BREAKING: Iran’s Supreme Leader Breaks Silence, Drops Bombshell About Barack Obama
One of these people is Ayatollah Khamenei, the supreme leader of the Iranian people. Up until now, the Ayatollah has been mute on the appeasement deal negotiated in Lausanne, Switzerland.
However, the supreme leader came out swinging this past week, calling the president “lying” and “deceptive” and accusing the administration and its allies of having “devilish” intentions.
I mean, I could have told you that he was lying and deceptive, but it seems vaguely untoward that someone who just got everything his country wanted would turn around and go all Brutus on Obama.
“There was no need to take a position” on the supposed deal before today, Khamenei said, according to The Weekly Standard. “The officials are saying that nothing has been done yet and nothing is obligatory. I neither agree nor disagree (with any deal).”
“What has been done so far does not guarantee an agreement, nor its contents, nor even that the negotiations will continue to the end.”
The Ayatollah’s social media account also tweeted that “No unconventional inspection that’d place Iran under special monitoring is acceptable. Foreign monitoring on #Iran’s security isn’t allowed.”
However, just because Iran doesn’t plan on complying with the monitoring doesn’t mean that they don’t want sanctions lifted. In fact, they said that they should be lifted before any compliance occurs.
Talking about the phased lifting of sanctions mandated by the plan, Khamenei said, “That is unacceptable because the lifting of the sanctions is part of the negotiations and not the result of the talks.
“Therefore, as the esteemed president (Rouhani) made clear, the sanctions should be lifted immediately after an agreement is reached.”
