Israeli president gives Princess Charlotte a dress and brooch to mark the royal baby’s birth
Gifts include the dress which has the words inscribed “From Israel with love” and a Hasma, the Jewish hand-shaped symbol for blessing
Reuven Rivlin, the Israeli president has marked the birth of the royal baby by sending a gift and a note of congratulations to Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge.
The gift included an Israeli-made baby girl’s dress inscribed with the words “From Israel with love” along with a brooch with a charm of a heart and a Hasma, the Jewish hand-shaped symbol for blessing, fortune and success.
An accompanying letter to the Queen from Mr Rivlin and his wife, Nechama, expressed congratulations for the birth of the baby, Charlotte Elizabeth Diana.
“On behalf of ourselves and of the citizens of the State of Israel, please allow us to offer our congratulations and good wishes on the birth of Your Majesty’s great-granddaughter, the new baby princess, to you and all the members of the Royal Family,” the couple wrote.
“We would also like, through your good offices, to convey a warm message of congratulations and good wishes to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the birth of their daughter, sister to Prince George and to wish them much joy health, and happiness.”
