Cooking oil pressed from the avocado fruit is more heart-healthy. It brings an effect to the fatty acids found in heart tissues. This oil can decrease the chances of the arteries getting hardened which is the leading cause of heart diseases.

Fruits and Vegetables

With the constant consumption of half a cup of mixed berries, levels of good cholesterol or HDL and blood sugar level are improved. Eat berries daily for eight weeks.

Avocado is one fruit loaded with monounsaturated fats. These are the fats that minimize blood clots and cholesterol. Avocado is packed with calories so eat in moderation.

Grapefruits are loaded with vitamin C. Researchers have proven its effect against stroke and blood cholesterol levels. Pectin in citrus fruits has flavonoids the lower blood pressure and lessen the inflammation in the arteries. Citrus also has hesperidin. It improves the flow of blood. It is an effective chemical to fight stroke.

Carotenoids are antioxidants known to help the heart. They are found in colorful vegetables. Examples of these antioxidants are alpha carotene, beta carotene, lycopene, and lutein. These are known carotenoids.


Coffee lovers revel at the antioxidant levels found in caffeine. Type 2 diabetes has lesser chances of occurring on people with constant intake of antioxidants. It also improves cognitive functions and reduces the risks of diseases like the Alzheimer’s. Resveratrol is an antioxidant compound which can help with cancer.
