Liberals Fined Xtian Bakers for Refusing to Bake a Cake, But They Just Got the Last Laugh
Aaron and Melissa Klein, owners of “Sweet Cakes” bakery, refused in 2013 to bake a wedding cake for lesbian couple Rachel and Laurel Bowman-Cryer, who were planning their wedding.
The couple filed a lawsuit against the Kleins, blaming them for such absurdities as “weight gain,” “loss of confidence,” “resumption of smoking habit” and other forms of what they labeled “mental rape” — whatever that means.
A little over two years later, Oregon Labor Commissioner Brad Avakian slapped a massive punishment on the Kleins, including a “cease and desist” gag order to prevent them from speaking of the matter in public and a staggering $135,000 fine to be paid to the lesbian couple for their “suffering.”
Vowing to stand behind their Christian faith and not allow the state to strip them of both religious freedom and their freedom of speech, Aaron Klein spoke to Fox News’ Todd Starnes immediately after the ruling.
