What You Never Noticed About That “Rainbow” White House Photo…
Those of you watching the news the evening of June 26th saw the White House, the home of our President, lit up in rainbow colors to celebrate the Supreme Court’s decision that, in effect, legalizes same-sex marriage. Bathed in rainbow colors across the front face of the building the White House turned into the Rainbow House for the night.
President Obama expressed his pleasure at the display even though the decision was controversial, to say the least.
“I had a chance to do the Rose Garden celebration of the court decision around same-sex marriage,” the president told CNN. “I did not have a chance to comment on how good the White House looked in rainbow colors. That made it a really good week. To see people gathered in an evening outside on a beautiful summer night, and to feel whole, and to feel accepted, and to feel that they had a right to love, that was pretty cool.”
“That was a good thing,” Obama said once, then again. “That was a good thing.”
