He’s off his trolley! Astonishing moment an ISIS jihadi uses shopping cart to precariously balance his anti-tank machine gun during street battle
Photograph widely shared on Twitter shows jihadi using bizarre gun stand
He balances his massive weapon on a trolley in the middle of a gun fight
Shopping cart enables the jihadi to operate a kind of mobile resting post
It’s not the first time ISIS fighters have been mocked for unorthodox guns
This is the astonishing moment an ISIS jihadi used a supermarket trolley to precariously balance his huge anti-tank machine in the middle of a raging street battle.
A photograph widely shared on social media purportedly shows an ISIS extremist using a shopping cart as a kind of mobile resting post while fighting on the frontlines somewhere in Syria or Iraq.
The gun is wedged into the trolley’s child seat to keep it stable, with the cart itself full of ammunition for the extremist to use as the fighting continues.
The image has been shared dozens of times on Twitter, with some speculating that it shows how poorly equipped some ISIS fighters on the frontline really are, despite ISIS’ claim to be the best equipped terrorist organisation in human history.

It’s not the first time ISIS jihadis have faced ridicule for using unorthodox weapons, however.
In May the terror group unveiled its latest weapon in its quest for dominance in the Middle East – a homemade Blue Peter-style sniper rifle.
Images of the gun showed a crudely-assembled long-range weapon, which critics are already suggesting would be far too heavy and inaccurate to use on the battlefield.
The sniper rifle also appeared to be lacking a tripod stand, resulting in the sniper having to use a tree branch as an ineffective resting post.
Sniper and counter terrorism expert Malcolm Nance told the MailOnline: ‘This is not professionally made. It appears to be constructed using cheap optics and wielded together.’
Assessing its capability, Mr Nance of the Terror Asymmetrics Project on Strategy, Tactics and Radical Ideology, added: ‘If you fired it, it would really smash your shoulder with each round.
‘It is a joke weapon. There is no recoil reducer and no place to rest your hands.
‘This is a gun used for harassing the enemy. It will have no accuracy unless it is properly zeroed,’ he added.
The news comes as Iraqi security officials said ISIS militants were responsible for blowing up a sports stadium in Iraq’s western Anbar province yesterday.
The stadium, near the militant-held city of Ramadi, had never been used for sports.
In recent months, it was used as a military base for Iraqi security forces and allied militia groups.
Officials said the 30,000-capacity stadium was empty when it was destroyed.
Also in Anbar, officials say the Sunni militant group ambushed a military unit near the city of Fallujah, killing the group’s commander, Ali Ahmed, and four of his men.
The officials spoke anonymously as they are not authorized to brief journalists.
Iraqi security forces last week announced the launch of a large-scale operation to retake Anbar province from the militants.
