PHOTO: Muslim Group Calls Feds After Spotting This Sign in Gun Store’s Front Window
The petulant Council on American-Islamic Relations called the feds to complain after one of its members discovered that Chad Neal, the patriotic manager of an Oklahoma gun store and shooting range, had posted a sign advertising that his business is a “Muslim-free” zone.
Neal posted the sign after last month’s horrific terrorist attack in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where an Islamic radical opened fire on two separate military installations and killed five servicemen.
“I didn’t want any terrorists, or Muslims, cult, whatever you want to call them, training on my gun range,” Neal explained to reporters. “There is a military recruiting station in the mall in Muskogee, and I thought this was one thing I could do to help protect our local soldiers.”
That seemed like a fair enough thing to say for Neal, a medically discharged veteran who fought in the Iraq War, especially given the climate of anti-military hatred that seems to be growing around us.
However, CAIR officials disagreed.
“It is clear to us that the establishment of Muslim-free zones is a violation of the law,” CAIR Executive Director Nihad Awad argued. “There are clear laws that prohibit discrimination based on religion. This kind of thing is in violation of the U.S. Constitution and the American spirit of respect for the rule of law.”
