Ex-FM criticizes IDF retaliation to rocket fire, saying strikes on infrastructure mean ‘they hit empty space
Former Foreign Minister and Yisrael Beytenu chairman MK Avigdor Liberman on Friday criticized the IDF retaliation to four rockets fired from Syria the daybefore, saying the response was weak.
“When you hear that they tried to attack infrastructure, usually that means sand or empty areas to sell the same bulls*** to the people of Israel that they did something,” Liberman told Army Radio.
It should be noted that the word “bulls***” in Hebrew does not have the same crass connotation as in English, instead corresponding more closely to something along the lines of a sharper term for “nonsense.”
Overnight the IDF struck 14 targets in Syria in response to the rockets that struck the Golan Heights and Upper Galilee in the afternoon hours.
The targets hit included weapons storehouses and infrastructure of the Syrian army, which Israel held responsible for allowing the rocket fire it said was conducted by the Islamic Jihad terror organization, under the direction and funding of Iran.
