Another nail in EU’s coffin as member states REFUSE to accept muslim migrants under quota system

THE European Union lurched ever closer to total disintegration today as it emerged that its flagship migrant quota policy is already in tatters…because NIMBY member states are REFUSING to take their share of refugees.

Brussels leaders had hoped that a controversial deal to relocate hundreds of thousands of migrants would patch up frosty relations between warring neighbours who cannot agree over who should shoulder the burden of the crisis.

But damning statistics released today show that, if anything, the flaky accord has only served to further highlight the cavernous divisions emerging within the 28-nation bloc.

An astonishing dossier reveals how, in the six weeks since the controversial migrant quotas were agreed, just 116 refugees have been relocated from Greece and Italy to two other member states.

Even more worryingly for Europhiles it also shows how some of the continent’s biggest players – most notably France and Germany – have effectively reneged on the agreement already.

As part of the September accord, European nations agreed to relocate 120,000 migrants over the next two years.

But Germany – which is facing an overwhelming refugee crisis of its own – has made just TEN of the 27,536 places it agreed to available. The country should be taking in around 38 migrants a day under the scheme, meaning 1,584 should already have been rehomed.

Meanwhile neighbouring France, which said it would house 19,714 migrants, has so far offered up places to a paltry 40 and has accepted none. Under the plans, by this stage the French should have provided sanctuary to 1,134 people.

Many European countries have been unable to cope with the influx
Just two Scandinavian nations – Sweden and Finland – have taken in any migrants at all under the quota system. They have accepted 86 people between them, all from Italy.

The hugely embarrassing statistics were published just hours before EU bureaucrats set off for Greece on a self-congratulatory PR stunt to crow about the success of its migration policy.
