Refugee – Arab states told Arabs to leave Israel in 1948 war
A Palestinian man is interviewed on the official Palestinian Authority television station. He shows a picture of himself as a young man, taken in June 1948 in front of his house.
He says that the Arab radio stations repetitively kept telling the Palestinians to leave the frontline for at most two weeks, and then the Arab regimes will bring the Palestinians back to Ein-Kerem, near Jerusalem.
The man says they thought two weeks was too long of a time, and now 50 years have gone by. PA TV (Fatah), July 7, 2009.
