The Truth: What Does The Term “Organic Food” Exactly Mean?
Recently, more and more we strive for healthy and natural foods from our or the neighboring garden.
But not everyone is in a position to get fruits and vegetables from the famous garden and then we reach for organic food. But what does the word ‘organic’ mean?
If the fruit, vegetables and meat are grown in a small farm or at your neighbors, it does not make them organic nor different from those in the trade.
When you see the fruits, vegetables, meat, fish or eggs labeled ‘organic’ it refers not only to the product but also the process that leads to the product itself.
If you are not sure what the label ‘organic’ really means, here are some brief but important features about the organic food.
- Organic foods are grown without synthetic pesticides, chemical fertilizers, genetically modified ingredients (GMOs), bioengineering or ionizing radiation.
