Samir Kuntar buried in Beirut: ‘Israel has opened a new account’
The funeral procession of Lebanese arch-terrorist Samir Kuntar began Monday afternoon in Beirut a day after he was killed in a suspected Israeli airstrike in Damascus.
Hundreds of Hezbollah terrorists attended the procession in the Lebanese capital’s Dahiya neighborhood. Numerous streets were blocked off as well in fear of an attack from Islamic State or Nusra Front.
The crowd chanted “Death to Israel! Death to America!” and waved the Palestinian, Lebanese and Hezbollah flags, as the coffin was carried to a mausoleum reserved for “martyrs.”
Kuntar is notorious for the 1979 murder of three Israelis, including 31-year-old Danny Haran, and his four-year-old daughter.
He has become a figurehead for Hezbollah terrorism in Israel over the past several decades, and at the time of his death was serving as commander of operations for the terror group in the Syrian Golan.
As the funeral began, Amar al-Moussaoui, who head’s Hezbollah’s media department, declared “the Israeli enemy will pay for the assassination of Samir Kuntar.”
