ISIS ‘$100 bills’ found left in Jewish towns

Police search north, after fake bills bearing ISIS leader found at various sites including kindergarten, likely placed by pro-ISIS Arabs.

Banknotes printed to look like $100 bills with Arabic on them and the picture of Islamic State (ISIS) leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi were found Tuesday morning at several Jewish towns in northern Israel, after being apparently placed by pro-ISIS Arab citizens.

The ISIS bills were discovered at Yesud Hama’ala, Hulata, and even at the entrance to a kindergarten in the moshav Sde Eliezer in the Upper Galilee, reports Walla.

Police have launched and investigation into the incident, with the bills being sent to a laboratory for inspection.

Yoram Makhlof, security officer of the Mevo’ot Hermon Regional Council that includes Sde Eliezer, told the news site that security forces were dispatched after the notes were found.

“This morning residents from the moshav Sde Eliezer were surprised to find at the entrance to a kindergarten bills modeled after $100, with a picture of the ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and writing in Arabic on them,” said Makhlof.

“I didn’t take the matter lightly and called out all the relevant emergency sources in the Council,” said the security officer. “In order to raise the feeling of security for the residents, our communal officer also arrived, and conducted patrols at the site.”
