If You Notice Somebody With This Ear Piercing, It Means THIS
If you’re a long term sufferer of migraines and headaches, you’re about to hear some promising news. If you’re a lover of piercings also, this news will suit you just perfectly.
A daith piercing is an ear piercing which passes through the ear’s innermost cartilage fold, and advocates claim it works for them in much the same way as acupuncture – targeting pressure points on the body’s surface to ease their discomfort.
Some acupuncturists believe there is a pressure point located in that little fold and target the area when treating migraines. Dr. Thomas Cohn in Minnesota blogged back in March that he witnessed patients “coincidentally” seen improvement with their condition after getting the daith piercing. He stressed that the correlation between the piercing and migraines has not been formally studied. It sounds too good to be true but it’s pretty exciting news, if it does turn out the piercing is a cure!
HOW CAN ‘DAITH’ PIERCINGS HELP RELIEVE A MIGRAINE?
The theory that daith piercings help ease migraines is based on the idea that it is the same pressure point as that targeted by acupuncturists to relieve chronic headaches
Acupuncture, a therapy which began in China more than 2,000 years ago, involves placing fine needles at specific pressure points on the body’s surface.
The needles are then manipulated by a acupuncturist, either manually or electrically.
It causes the blood vessels around the needle to open up
