Brussels TERROR attack: Manhunt for ‘bomber’ begins as ISIS issues a chilling threat of ‘dark days’
The evil Islamic State (ISIS) have claimed responsibility for the suicide attacks at Brussels airport and a metro station leaving at least 34 dead and 230 injured.
A statement from the terror group said their “brothers” had been martyred by blowing themselves up and warned there will be “dark days” ahead if the West retaliates.
At least 14 people have been killed and another 92 injured in the two large explosions at the airport, according to firemen at the scene.
Another 20 people have been killed and 106 injured after two blasts in Maelbeek metro station in Brussels, Yvan Mayeur, the Mayor of Brussels confirmed.
Medics from Gasthuisberg hospital in Leuven, where the wounded are being treated, said their injuries are consistent with at least one of the bombs being packed with nails before it was set of.
Police are hunting a man wearing a white jacket and black hat caught on CCTV camera at Zaventem Airport, where 14 people were killed.
Surveillance footage captured shortly before the blast this morning shows two men, believed to be dead, both of whom are wearing gloves covering their left hands, pushing suitcase trolleys laden with luggage.
But police have issued a wanted notice for the man in white, while it is thought the two men in black may have died at the scene.
During the aftermath of the attacks, police carried out a number of raids across Belgium. An ISIS flag, chemicals, a bomb and an explosive device containing nails were found during a house search.
