ISLAMIC TERROR WON: March ‘Against Fear’ in Brussels Canceled for Safety Reasons
BRUSSELS/MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Earlier in the day, Belgian Interior Minister Jan Jambon urged to postpone the event for several weeks in order not to put strain on local police which were engaged in investigating the recent attacks and ensuring security as the terror threat in the country was raised to its highest level.
“The safety of people is our absolute priority. Thus, we fully support the authorities’ proposal to postpone [the march] for a later date. In our turn, we urge the citizens not to arrive in Brussels on Sunday,” the statement on Facebook read.
Almost 10,000 social networks users earlier confirmed their participation in the event.
