WATCH: Incredible footage shows what it’s REALLY like to cross the sea in a refugee dinghy

THIS incredible footage shows what it is really like to make the perilous crossing from Turkey to Greece – from the eyes of desperate and frightened migrants.

Packed inside this 20 man dinghy more than 30 refugees have squeezed in, hoping to make it to Europe having run from war-torn Syria.

Each person in the boat has paid smugglers around $700, and an extra hundred for their life jackets.

To get as far as the Germany, France and British borders, they will have to fork out as much as €5,000 per person.

The footage shows a packed-out raft into which the smallest travellers have been placed in the middle.

Adults, mostly men, hold on to the outer edges.

Before leaving they will have heard countless stories from those before them, and tales of those who were not lucky enough to reach the other side.

An Arabic translator told the people in the boat are thanking God for their safe arrival and pointing out the Greek coastline.

They are close to the shore having travelled 5km across a dangerous stretch of the Aegean Sea.

They can see the Greek island and are praising God for letting them arrive with their lives.

One man shouts: “Alhamduliah (thanks to God) we’ve left the danger behind us and here is the Greek Island.”

One playfully says to another “no one is redder than you” indicating how cold the crossing has been.

Despite many being under the impression the migrants sneak under the cover of darkness, the footage shows passages take place in broad daylight.
