Hundreds of migrants evacuated after HUGE camp underneath Paris railway station cleared

A MIGRANT camp underneath a Paris railway station is being evacuated.


The camp, underneath the Stalingrad Metro station, is currently being cleared out, with hundreds of asylum seekers and refugees packing their bags and leaving.

The first migrants out of around 500 left the site at around 5am GMT, going on buses to take them to refugee shelters.

The country’s security forces had a presence at the site, in the northeast of the French capital, as they closed the station and stopped regular tragic going through the area.

The site had been a centre for violence between refugees.

In April, the residents of the makeshift base were seen attacking each other with planks of wood, metal poles and other items.

One, Mustafa, a 24-year-old from Afghanistan, said: “We were glad to leave, at the camp.”

This is not the first time the site has been cleared out.
