This picture has gone viral – Can you see why?
On Tuesday, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg posted a picture of himself to celebrate that Instagram, which is owned by Facebook, has reached 500 million users.
The picture has subsequently received considerable media attention – not because of the milestone – but because Zuckerberg has taken important but simple precautions to protect himself against hacker attacks.
He has in fact put tape over his webcam and microphone.
The website Unilad writes: “The reveal comes just weeks after Zuckerberg’s social media accounts were hacked with his not-so-complicated password ‘dadada’.
But Zuckerberg is one of the highest-profile security targets in the world, according to The Telegraph, so covering his laptop with tape may just be a sensible way to preserve privacy. Or, he could know something we don’t.”
On Twitter many people ask themselves why he does so and what it means, how scared we really should be of people spying on us online.
