Real estate tycoon Donald Trump has reportedly pledged to contribute over $100,000 to the Israeli volunteer emergency ambulance service United Hatzalah, according to the New York-based Jewish newspaper Algemeiner.

The funds are to be used for the purchase of ambulances.

Trump was reportedly inspired to make the contribution by his friend, pharmaceuticals magnate Stewart Rahr.

Rahr has himself raised substantial funds for the Israel branch of United Hatzalah. At a recent ambulance dedication ceremony in Jerusalem, Rahr said, “I just love the energy level of United Hatzalah… This is the type of organization I relate to, starting from the bottom just like I started.”
