In Video: Russian jets destroy base for US-backed rebels in Syria’s Idlib
The FSA-affiliated Division 13 headquarter in northwestern Syria has been almost entirely demolished as Russian fighter jets heavily ponded the base located in Maarrat al-Numan (nearly 33 km south of Idlib).
Pro-rebel activists claimed that Russian warplanes pounded the base with vacuum bombs, destroying all buildings and military equipment. Only two were injured in the attack, according to the same activists.
Division 13 was among the first armed Syrian opposition groups to receive U.S.-made BGM-71 TOW anti-tank missiles.
