FIGHTING FOR THEIR LIVES: Heartbreaking video shows Syrian children burning tires to obstruct warplanes bombarding Aleppo
CHILDREN in the Syrian city of Aleppo are burning rubber tyres in a desperate attempt to create a no-fly zone above the besieged city.
Footage released by pro-rebel news agency Halab News Network shows young children in the besieged rebel areas collecting tyres and burning them to form a “smoke curtain” to impede visibility from warplanes that have been carrying out bombing raids.
As the youth roll the rubber tyres down the street and set them ablaze, they can be heard singing what are reportedly victory songs.
According to local reports, the children have been burning tyres not only to deter air strikes but also to send out a message to inform “the world and the United Nations” of their plight.
Yasser Al-rahil, a journalist and member of the Revolutionary Forces of Syria media office, told Express.co.uk: “The children in Aleppo burned tires inside the besieged civilian Aleppo and are still continuing to.
