Dramatic footage shows six armed police officers snare tasered Russell Square knife maniac moments after he ‘killed US woman’
THE knife-man that carried out a bloodbath knife attack that left an American woman dead and five injured in Russell Square last night has been named.
Zakaria Bulhan, a Norwegian national, of Somali origin moved to the UK from Norway in 2002, and was said to be suffering possible ‘mental health issues’.
The teen was reportedly very shy, and was bullied at his London secondary school.
After fleeing the scene police finally nabbed the 19-year-old outside the Clarendon Hotel.
After speaking to his family, searching his home and working with MI5 and MI6, police sources added that he has shown no signs of radicalisation.
The teenager is believed to suffer from mental health problems and that the incident was a “spontaneous attack”.
The “victims were selected at random”, according to Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner Mark Rowley.
The dead woman was confirmed as an American tourist while the injured were British, Australian, Israeli and American.
She died at the scene while being cradled by a group of Spanish tourists who rushed to her aid late last night.
The victim, in her 60s, named locally as Darlene Horton, was knifed in the back while five others were injured during the “spontaneous” attack.
