‘Italy is NOT an Islamic suburb’ says Italian citizens, as a massive mosque is being planned near the iconic Leaning Tower of Pisa
HUNDREDS of Italians rallied together against a planned mosque near the iconic Leaning Tower of Pisa following fears it could become “a centre of radicalisation”.

Residents across Pisa gathered in the city centre market on Saturday to protest against a planned £4million mosque.
The concerned citizens called on the local council to put a stop to the planned construction of a mosque just 400 meters to the city’s main attraction, the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
The ‘No Mosque’ campaign has become a national debate in Italy amid growing Islamophobia and fears of an ISIS attack in the country.
Daniela Santanche, a politician who leads the campaign against the mosque, said: “We have to halt the construction of new mosques to prevent Italy from becoming an Islamic suburb to avoid losing our identity.”
The MP added: “First, we need to create a law to regulate Mosques’ and imam’s actions and then hold discussions.
“Hate is not coming from our side. We do not place bombs in airports, subways or places, where young people listen to music.
“That is why hate is coming from Muslim terrorists. We Italians have always been kind. But now we are looking at pseudo-solidarity.”
